Outline of Day Two Workshop

     Child Protection Issues:

        • Investigation of societal attitudes towards abuse
        • Forms of abuse discussed.
          - Emotional abuse
          - Neglect
          - Physical abuse
          - Sexual abuse
        • Definitions and indicators of abuse will be explored
        • Disclosures of abuse and appropriate management
        • The notification procedure and legal aspects/responsibility

     Domestic Violence:

        • The occurrence of domestic violence in Australia will be discussed.
          - Impact of domestic violence on the family
          - Cycle of violence
        • Protective Behaviours for people in situations of domestic violence.

Areas covered within the spectrum of child protection are dependent on, and adjusted to, the groups needs and professional requirements.
