The Protective Behaviours Program was developed in America by Peg Flandreau West. The idea of a safety program was conceived when Peg went to speak with a group of students at a primary school, on the topic of Being Safe. It was from this idea that Protective Behaviours began.
The Commission works with others to make NSW a better place for children and young people. The Commission reports directly to the NSW Parliament, and the Committee on Children and Young People oversees their work.
