The Protective Behaviours Program was developed in America by Peg Flandreau West. The idea of a safety program was conceived when Peg went to speak with a group of students at a primary school, on the topic of Being Safe. It was from this simple idea that Protective Behaviours began.

The Commission works with others to make NSW a better place for children and young people. The Commission reports directly to the NSW Parliament, and the Committee on Children and Young People oversees their work.

The National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect is an advocate for the prevention of child abuse and neglect. It is a national, independent, charitable organisation with a clear purpose: to prevent child abuse and neglect before it starts.

The Australian Childhood Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that works tirelessly to support children and families devastated by abuse, family violence and neglect.
